Nov. 2--Two men wanted in connection with a Tulsa homicide were taken into custody this morning on Interstate 44 near Highway 141, the Missouri Highway Patrol said.
Highway patrol officers along the Interstate 44 corridor were looking for a person of interest, his friend and the pickup truck reportedly used in a shooting outside a taco stand.
Missouri Highway Patrol Troop C spokesman Sgt. Al Nothum said officers were able to locate the two men with the help of the vehicle's OnStar-type global positioning system. Highway patrol officers were turning over the two men to Tulsa police and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials, Nothum said.
At least one man fired shots from the pickup truck about 2:30 a.m. Monday, killing a 20-year-old man outside an east Tulsa taco stand, Tulsa police spokesman Jason Willingham said.
Erik Victorino was struck by several rounds fired from a man inside the truck following an argument, Willingham said. Victorino later died at a hospital.
Police officers in both Oklahoma and Missouri were seeking Luis Alberto Mendoza, 31, considered a person of interest in connection with the homicide, Willingham said.
A 2003-04 blue Ford King Ranch quad-cab pickup with tan rocker panels and chrome rims was sought in connection with the homicide, police said.
