North Carolina Mountain Estate to Sell at J.P. King Real Auction [11/02/2009 ]

GREEN MOUNTAIN, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Green Mountain Estate, a year-round retreat that covers 315 acres of land in the mountain cove of the Appalachian Mountains, will be sold at real estate auction to the highest bidder. J. P. King Auction Company, the nation's leading real estate auction company will manage the sale of the estate. The auction will be Thursday, November 5, 1 p.m. on site.

Approximately 1.5 miles of road have been added to this property to access all of its outstanding amenities, including a guest house, equestrian facility and a six-bedroom, 4.5-bath main house.

"Green Mountain Estate's surrounding mountain range is a perfect escape," said Craig King, president & CEO of J. P. King. "The estate is only 40 miles outside of Asheville, N.C., and has access to Asheville's festivals, museums, art galleries, distinctive restaurants and entertainment venues. It has something to offer for every season."

The property's main house features six bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms. It is comprised of cedar siding with extensive detailed stonework, suitable for its pastoral surroundings. Some of the amenities are granite countertops in the kitchen and marble in the master bath with his/her sinks. The residence has two massive stone fireplaces built with local stone by local artisans and contains a terrace with a fire pit overlooking the equestrian facility.

"The gorgeous mountain trails that have been added throughout this property present beautiful views for horseback riding and exploring or simply taking an afternoon stroll," said owner Ben Philips. "Almost six miles of expansive riding trails have been identified and mapped throughout the property, which also includes an electric gate system."

The stables include everything from washing facilities and a feed room to a raised-bed, organic vegetable garden. Around the stable area, this property also possesses four fenced pastures and a 60-foot riding arena.

Other recreational activities are promoted through the 50-tree organic apple orchard, a private pond and abundant wildlife.
