Oct. 19--Philippine-based laptop manufacturer NEO unveiled recently its new line of notebook computers called Edge. NEO Edge line of ultra-portables comes with three models -- Edge Z3240, Edge Z3265 and Edge Z1280, the new products available in the market that promised cutting-edge mobility and performance.

"NEO Edge series embodies what the NEO brand is all about and that is technology, quality and affordability," Jason Cheng, president of NEO, said. "NEO has always been committed to deliver quality products at reasonable prices to every Filipino and with this launch we can fulfill every Filipino's dream of having an ultra-slim laptop with the NEO Edge product line."

EDGE Z3240 sports a 13.3-inch widescreen, an ultra-low voltage (ULV) Pentium processor with 2MB of L2 cache and 3GB of system memory, and 120GB SATA hard disk. This unit is ideal for business and multimedia applications even on long trips for it has a longer battery life.

According to NEO, the most notable feature of Z3240, is its ultra-thin design, sleek metal finish and lightweight design, tipping the scale at less than 1.5kg and thinner than 22mm all throughout.

Edge Z3265 comes with Intel Core 2 Duo processor, with 3MB of L2 cache, 2GB of system memory and 320GB SATA hard drive. This unity is still thinner than most notebooks at only 23mm thick and is less than 1.5kg. It is complemented by connectivity options including USB 2.0 ports and HDMI.

Edge Z1280, on the other hand, is a netbook powered by Intel's Atom N280 processor technology, paired with 2GB of RAM and 320GB of hard disk space. It features 10-inch widescreen and weighs 1.4 kg even with 6-cell battery. It also comes with additional features, such as multi-format card reader, WiFi and Bluetooth.

The new series are pre-installed with the latest Microsoft Windows operating systems, such as Vista or the upcoming Windows 7.
