The invention relates to a refrigerating device for a refrigerated truck that includes a generator operated by an engine of the refrigerated truck, a refrigerator battery for storing power generated by the generator, a DC motor electrically connected to the refrigerator battery through a relay, a refrigerating cycle having a compressor operated by the DC motor, a power switch arranged in an operating chamber so as to be operated by an operator, and a speed reducer connected to the refrigerator battery through the power switch, and which mechanically connects the DC motor and the compressor when electrically connected to the refrigerator battery. The speed reducer and the relay are electrically connected to each other such that the relay electrically connects the refrigerator battery and the DC motor when the speed reducer is electrically connected to the refrigerator battery so as to operate the compressor via the DC motor.
