Kids' Closet
The First Presbyterian Church Kids' Closet will open Sept. 3 for the benefit of babies and young children in the community.
Kids' Closet will provide basic necessities to the children of families in need.
The Closet will be located at 1063 Circle Drive in the Henry D. Mooney Education Building and will be open 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. the first and third Wednesdays of each month. The Closet will stock items such as disposable diapers, powdered formula, bottles, baby and toddler food and juices, baby wipes, bath necessities, and some clothing and bedding.

Kummer appointed
On Monday, Gov. Charlie Crist announced 21 reappointments and appointments to One Church, One Child of Florida Corp.
Among them is Paul Kummer, 45, of Niceville, senior pastor of Grace Lutheran Church, succeeding the Rev. Lawrence Gantt Sr. He was appointed for a term that began Aug. 6 and ends Dec. 18, 2011.
GULF BREEZE
Keyboard concert
Concord Presbyterian Church, 4191 Gulf Breeze Parkway, presents organist Sharon White and pianist Marcia DeGraaf in concert at 6 p.m. Aug. 30. Admission is free; a love offering will be collected.
The church is 9 miles west of Navarre.
Many consider White an organ expert, understanding both the practical and technical aspects of her beloved instrument.
DeGraaf also has been involved with Christian music through the years, both instrumentally and vocally. She has been assisting Brewton area churches since her college graduation.
This concert will piece together a variety of genres, appealing to all.
BAKER
Christian illusionist
Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church will present a series of programs Aug. 28-30 with Christian illusionist Scott Humston.
Friday and Saturday programs are at 7 p.m. and Sunday programs at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. All seats are free, but a love offering will be collected each night.
Humston lives just north of Orlando and has been a professional entertainer for more than half his life. His programs are a combination of music, magic stories, songs, and powerful messages that reach people from all walks of life.
A nursery will be provided during each program. Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church is on Highway 4, one mile south of Baker. Call the church office at 537-9221.

Children's choirs
First through fifth grade children's choirs begin at 5:45 p.m. Aug. 26 at First Baptist Church.
The children's choir will be featured with the Celebration Choir & Orchestra for the presentation of "Somebody's Praying Me Through" on Sept 20.

Rocky Bayou Christian School is looking for families in Okaloosa County to host international students. Students are coming from China, Thailand, Taiwan, Finland, Japan, Germany, South Korea, Slovakia and Spain.

Bishop Bruce Parham is known for his powerful ministry in word and music.

The Philadelphia native is the featured special guest at the second annual "A Gathering of the Kingdom," at 11 a.m. Aug. 22 and 23 at Heirs of the Kingdom Church International.
The event also will feature evangelist Dorothy Franklin of Pensacola; the dance ministry by Esther Flesh of Birmingham, Ala.; and the MJJ Dancers of Pensacola.
