Aug. 22--Legal drama delayed "Project Runway's" sixth season, but the show finally strutted down Lifetime's catwalk Thursday.
To celebrate the series' return, we're bringing back our "Project Newspaper" contest.
Share your passion for fashion by designing your own garment out of newspaper. (Extra points for using York Daily Record/Sunday News pages.)
You can use a needle and thread, string, glue, tape or wire to aid in the construction, but the majority of the project must be newspaper. As "Runway" host Tim Gunn would say: "Make it work!"
Snap a picture of your finished creation and upload it to the 2009 Daily Record/Sunday News Project Newspaper Contest page at www.inyork.com/gallery.
Click on the album named "2009 Project Newspaper Contest." (Make sure you have registered for the site if you haven't before.)
Next, click on the dropdown menu on the left side of the page that says album actions. Select "add items."
In the field that says "file" click browse and select the appropriate photo. Make sure to add a caption that describes the picture and includes your name, age and the municipality in which you live.
If you have more than one entry, use the next "file" field to upload your next photo.
When you are done, click "add items" at the bottom of the page.
In addition, e-mail your name, age and the municipality in which you live and a contact number to emccracken@ydr.com
with the subject line "Project Newspaper Contest."
Those who don't follow instructions risk disqualification. Deadline is Oct. 22.
Feel free to vote for you're favorite designs in the gallery, but York Daily Record/Sunday News judges have final say on whether each entry is fad or drab when we pick first-place, second-place and third-place winners. Stay tuned for what the prizes are.
