ST. PETERSBURG, FL -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 05/07/09 -- Anderson McQueen Funeral and Cremation Centers has announced the winner of the contest to name their Harley-Davidson hearse: Glory Ride, submitted by Tom Scott of Orlando, Florida.

Anderson-McQueen's Name the Ride contest resulted in 416 unique names for their 2008 Harley-Davidson Road King hearse. A panel of judges narrowed the list to five potential names: Glory Ride, Heavenly Hawg, Iron Hearse, Peaceful Rider and Revin' to Heaven. After a public vote, Glory Ride was selected as the winning name.

"Funeral services have become an opportunity to celebrate and honor the life of loved ones," said John McQueen, chief operating officer of Anderson-McQueen. "Our signature services help our families create personalized, and perhaps unconventional, memorials. Glory Ride is the latest addition to the suite of options available for those that loved to ride, or never got the chance."

Judges who were gracious to assist in narrowing down the list of entrants in the bike battle included: St. Petersburg Times columnist, Ernest Hooper, Jim's Harley Davidson owner, Jamie Rosenkrans, GoFar Magazine editor, Mike Savidge, Full Throttle Magazine editor, Tony Cianci, and Florida Gulf Coast HOG chapter past-director, Gary Kebler.
